Mariah Stacona-Alexander
Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs
Program Assistant, Tribal Health Scholars
Mariah grew up in the small town of Madras, Oregon just outside the Warm Springs Reservation. She comes from a large family. Her dad's side is Enrolled in The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and her mom's side is from Nayarit, Mexico.
After high school, she attended Northwest University on a four year basketball scholarship and earned her bachelors degree in Business Administration in 2019.
During COVID-19, she moved back home to be closer to family as she was starting her own family with her husband Heath. They now have three beautiful girls; Amirah, Sophia, and Sienna, as well as two pointer dogs; Ace and Maverick.
It has always been Mariah’s goal to come back and serve her community and youth. In her previous work, she served the local high school for four years as the Native American Liaison. She was able to work with students from the Reservation and help them navigate school, athletics, home life, and mentor them. She is excited to join the NNACoE team and continue to help her community. We will be helping the future of our reservations and communities through this work.
In her free time, Mariah likes to be with her husband and kids, hunting, fishing, watching sports and all things outdoors.
