Peggy grew up in the greater Milwaukee, WI area. She earned a BS in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master’s in Nursing from Marquette University, and a PhD from Oregon Health & Science University. Her early nursing practice focused primarily on hospital nursing, critical care, and cardiac rehabilitation. She has been a nurse educator, faculty member, and academic administrator for over 30 years. Most recently she served as the Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs & Diversity at OHSU School of Nursing. Peggy has significant experience directing nursing education-related initiatives, including Nursing Workforce Diversity programs and the Interprofessional Care Access Network, a statewide community practice and education partnership. Her scholarship and research has focused diversity and inclusion, interprofessional education and practice, and population health and health equity. The Wy’east Post-Baccalaureate Pathway program offers a unique opportunity to combine her interests and experience to support AI/AN students into the nursing profession that she loves.  In her free time Peggy loves to be outdoors with family and friends- gardening, foraging mushrooms, clamming and crabbing at the beach, cooking, and traveling.
