Dr. McCormick served as a guest lecturer in the Foundational Science thread from 2018 until joining the Wy’East Faculty in 2024 to direct the Human Physiology thread.  Dr. McCormick was born in London, UK, and received his PhD in Molecular Endocrinology from the University of Edinburgh, UK.  After joining OHSU he established his own laboratory in 2011.  His research focuses on kidney physiology, using genetically modified mice to study ion transport and mechanisms of a rare disease called Familial Hyperkalemic Hypertension.
